The name Art is Hard comes from the idea how art is prevalent in our lives and should not be over looked in schools. Art and design are beneficial to relieving stress, provoking intellectual stimulation and best of all creating an object in the world which was not present before. Art is Hard supports the “Do It Yourself Community” and encourages others to create, make and design.
Shannon Wingard - Creator
Shannon sews and screen-prints Art Is Hard projects. Her illustrations are created in various ways such as hand drawing, designing with computer graphic software or by manipulating photographs. She obtained a Bachelors in Art with a focus in Graphic Design from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana in 2003.And obtained a Assoicates Degree in Marketing and Merchanding at Austin Community College. She has been working as a Graphic Designer and Pre-press Operator for over 10 years in the printing industry. Currently, she is living in Brooklyn, NY taking on freelance work for textile designs and graphic design work for web and print.
